Japanese Occupational Currencies - Malaya
The invasion of Malaya occured when the Japanese landed their troops at Kota Baru Kelantan and Songkhla Thailand in mid-night on the 8th. of December 1941 and ended on15 January 1942 with the fall of Singapore. It took them 10 weeks to totally capture Malaya. During their occupation until their surrender to the allied forces on 2nd. September 1945, the Japanese issued what we called the " Banana Notes " as you can see in the pictures. They ruled Malaya for 3 years, 8 months, 3 weeks and 5 days. ( 3835 what a good number he he ! )
