New Malaysian Stamps - Yang di-Pertuan Agong ( Head Of Malaysian States ) - 09 / 09 / 2017

Malaysian is practicing the Constitutional Monarchy System. Nine of the states of Malaysia are constitutionally headed by traditional Malay rulers. The nine states are collectively referred to as the Malay States and limit eligibility for the throne to Malay muslim  royal descends.  The seven hereditary monarchies  are from Kedah, Kelantan, Johor, Perak, Pahang, Selangor and Terengganu. In Perak the throne is rotated among three branches of the royal families. Negeri Sembilan is an elected monarch by the four  hereditary chiefs. All rulers except those of Perlis and Negeri Sembilan used the title Sultan. The ruler of Perlis is called Raja while that of Negeri Sembilan is known as the Yang Dipertuan Besar. Every five years, the Conference of Rulers will gather to determine / elect among themselves who will be the next Yang di-Pertuan Agong ( Head of the Malaysian States ). The Head incumbent now is Tuanku Muhammad V of Kelantan State and will rule for five years until the next conference takes place.
