Old Stamps Of Ireland ( Europe )

Not much can be said about Irish stamps due to the fact that Ireland was part of Great Britain until its independence in 1922 which saw the Irish government issued as an interm  measure overprinted stamps of King George V .  Dolland printing house in Dublin and others did this overprint work between February and December 1922.  Definitive postage stamps of Ireland are the regular series of definitive postage stamps issued by the Irish Free State between 1922 - 1937 and by the Republic of Ireland since 1937.  Seven distinctly different series of designs have been released and the currency was changed on three occasions while the design remained the same.
