Old Stamps Of Portuguese Province Of Zambezia ( Mozambique - Africa )
The province of Zambezia ( Mozambique ) was established in 1894 by combining Tete, an inland territory and Quelimane which became Zambezia's capital city. Portuguese stamps for Zambezia were overprinted
" Republica " beginning in 1911 when Portugal became a republic after constitutional monarchy was deposed. During this period the colony of Mozambique was not yet centralized and communication between the various Portuguese outposts was difficult. To overcome this problem, the various provinces issued their own stamps including Zambezia ( 1894 - 1917 )

New Stamps Of The Republic Of Guinea-Bissau ( Once Portuguese Guinea - Africa )
When the Europeans scramble for Africa began in 1880's, the Portuguese who were significantly secured in Bissau, laid claim to this region, soon to be known as Portuguese Guinea. Since then the Portuguese managed to contain this region from foreign powers and the local rulers until the emergence of nationalist movements all over Africa in 1950's. When Portuguese colonies in Africa were rapidly being granted independence, Portuguese Guinea was the first to be given independence in 1974 and was then known as the Republic Of Guinea-Bissau. ( Not to be confused with French Guinea and Guinea Equatorial ).
