Malaysian First Day Covers - River Transportation In Sarawak - 26 May 2016

Sarawak has a total of 55 navigable rivers with a combined length of 3, 300 km in an area of 124, 450 sq. km. Of all the rivers in Sarawak, the Rejang is the most important as it serves many communities up and down. It is also the largest in Malaysia, with a length of 773 km long and navigable   up to 567 km. Sibu the largest town along the river is the busiest riverine port. Many forms of river transport have been used throughout the ages in Sarawak to serve the people and their goods. Shown here are 4 types of boats used in Sarawak and they are Longboat,  Express Boat,  Ferry Boat  and Bamboo Raft.

Malaysian First Day Cover - National Laureates - 29 April 2016

The Malaysian National Laureates is the highest recognition given by the Malaysian Government for outstanding contributions in producing literary works, as well as excellent and contributions in providing efforts in the development of Malaysian literature as part of world art heritage. The three recipients are Keris Mas or Kamaluddin Muhammad ( 10 June 1922 - 1992 ), Tongkat Warrant or Usman Awang  ( 12 July 1929 - 2000 ) and Arena Wati or Muhammad Bin Andul Biang ( 30 July 1925 - 2009 ).
