Old And New Stamps Of Pakistan ( Asia )
Pakistan appears on the map of the world on the 14th. August 1947 but the history of Pakistani postal stamps started with the first postage stamps of Indo-Pak known as Scinde Dawk stamps. It was the first Asian stamps issued by the province of Sindh now forming part of Pakistan. Before the partition, Pakistan used postage stamps of KGVI of Indian Post with the word Pakistan overprinted on them. Immediately after independence, Pakistan started issuing more then 600 sets and singles totaling more than 1, 300 stamps. As a feudaltory state within Pakistan, Bahawalpur gained the right to issue their own official stamps from 1945 and postage stamps from 1947. After 1949, Bahawalpur adopted Pakistani stamps for external mails. This former princely state continued using its own stamps for internal use till 1953.
