Malaysian First Day Cover - Chinese Festival Food Series - 24 January 2017

Every community in Malaysia has its own unique festive culinary offerings. The highlight of Chinese New Year celebration is the reunion dinner, where varieties of auspicious foods are prepared and served during the get-together session of family members. During the reunion dinner, various feast of auspicious foods are served and each dish represents or symbolises positive attributes for instance, yu ( fish ) is a symbol of abundance and fatt choy ( a type of seaweed ) represents prosperity. Among the popular dishes are poon choi, yee sang, lettuce wraps, spring rolls, lotus root soup and steamed fish just to name a few.

Old Stamps Of Myanmar ( Burma ) - South East Asia

Burma is the largest country by geographical area in Indo-China ( mainland of South East Asia ) , situated on the north-west of Thailand and facing the Bay of Benggal to the south-west with the Andaman Sea defining its southern periphery. Starting in 1854, Burma used the stamps of British India without any form of overprinting. The 1st stamps of Burma were stamps of British India overprinted the word " Burma " from 1st April 1937. Between 1942 till 1945, stamps with Japanese postmarks were issued in Burma. After the war, postal services were restricted under Briitsh administration and stamps were overprinted with MILY ADMIN. On 4th. January 1948, Burma became an independent republic as the Union of Burma and stamps were issued with that name until 1973. From 1974, stamps were marked with Socialist Republic of the Union of Burma and in 1990 as Union of Myanmar.

Malaysian First Day Covers - Malaysian Serama - 10 December 2017

The Malaysian Serama is the world's smallest chicken, weighing just around 350 gm to 500 gm. This pygmy chicken was first bred in the Malaysian state of Kelantan during the 1970's by cross-breeding local jungle fowl with various other chicken breeds such as the Japanese Bantam and Malaysian Bantam. The Malaysian Serama is the pride and joy of Malaysia and is renowned throughout the world . Being Malaysian Post first issue for 2017, as  well as in conjunction with the Chinese New Year of the Rooster Year, we proudly pay tribute to the Malaysian Serama as the theme for this year.

Malaysian First Day Cover - Paralympics Golden Moments In Rio 2016 - 20 December 2016

Malaysia participated in the Paralympics Games , the biggest sporting event for disable athletes for the first time in Heidelberg Germany in 1972. Malaysia won the first bronze medal in the 1988  Seoul Paralympics Games and subsequently won one silver and two bronze medals at the 1992 Barcelona Paralympics Games in Spain. At the Rio Paralympics Games, the Malaysian contingent sent 21 athletes participating in 8 events - Athletics, Cycling, Archery, Weighlifting, Ping Pong, Sailing, Swimming and Wheelchair Tennis. History was made at the Rio Paralympics Games 2016 where Malaysian won  three gold medals.
