Commemorative - The Golden Jubilee Of The Malaysian National Museum

1.   The idea of building the National Museum was first mooted by the late first Prime Minister of Malaysia Tuanku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj. in 1958 and construction stated in 1962 till its completion in 1963.  As a replacement of the old Selangor Museum which was destroyed during the second world war, the local architect of the museum designed the much admired Malaysian cultural icon in the image of the traditional Malay house imbued with the grandeur of Malay Royal Palace. It was inaugurated on the 31st August 1963 by His Majesty the Yang Dipertuan Agong. The date 31st. August 2013,  this national monument celebrated its golden jubilee alongside that of the 50th. anniversary of the formation of Malaysia.
