Malaysian First Day Cover - World Post Day - Issued 09 October 2015

Every year on the 9th of October, we celebrate World Post Day, the anniversary of the establishment of the Universal Postal Union  ( UPU )in 1874 in the Swiss capital of Berne.  It was declared World Post Day by the UPU congress held in Tokyo Japan in 1969. World Post Day is celebrated in more than 150 countries in order to create a global awareness of the role and importance of the postal industry in the lives of the people and businesses and also its contributions to the social and economic development of its respective countries.
