Malaysian First Day Cover - Scented Flowers Series II - Issued 07 March 2016
There are three types of Malaysian scented flowers in this issue. On the left side of the arranged stamp is Bread Flower ( Vallaris Glabra ) is a member of the Apcynaceae family. This plant is a creeper that is often grown for its fragrant flowers. In the middle is called Yellow Saraca ( Saraca Cauliflora ) and belongs to the Fabaceace Family . It is often found growing naturally along river banks or recreational parks in South Asia and the last flower on the right is named Cannonball Flowers ( Couroupita Guianensis ) and is one of the members of the Lecythidaceae Family. This special type of three produces large and colourful flowers from its branches that jut out from its main stem.
