Straits Settlements Silver Dollars

The rival between the Dutch and the British reached its climax over the issue of Singapore and was resolved when the Treaty of London was signed in 1824. When a demarcation line was drawn between the two parties on the Malay Archipelago, Melacca had to be handed over to the British by the Dutch in exchange for Bencoolan in Sumatra. Two years later in 1826, the Straits Settlements was formed and lasted until 1935.
Shown here are some silver dollars of that era.
